Last updated 28 August 2026. This Privacy Policy is for the Bahadoor Pooja Shop website and WhatsApp shop messages. It is our policy, not Meta’s. It explains what we collect, why we use it, who we send it to, and how you can ask us to delete it.
Who we are
Bahadoor Pooja Shop is a Hindu puja supplies store in Goodlands, Mauritius. We operate this shop website and the WhatsApp number 5949 2284 (+230 5949 2284). For this policy we are the controller of customer data on the shop.
What we collect
When you use the shop we may collect: your name; Mauritian mobile number; preferred pickup branch; order lines, notes, and status; optional last-mile street address and town; store-credit / wallet activity; saved addresses; favourites and lists; optional WhatsApp basket reminders; payment references you type after staff ask you to pay (we do not collect card numbers on this site); a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser user agent on the sign-in session.
Why we use it
We use this data to send WhatsApp sign-in codes, identify your account, take pickup or last-mile orders, tell the store what to pick, send order updates, confirm payment references, run last-mile in Goodlands and nearby north when you opt in, and keep records of the sale. We do not sell your number or your orders. We do not show leftover stock quantity on the shop.
WhatsApp and Meta
Sign-in codes and order updates are sent with WhatsApp Cloud API. To deliver those messages we send Meta Platforms (WhatsApp) your mobile number and the template fields needed for the message (for example your name and order status). Meta processes that traffic under Meta’s terms. We receive delivery status on our webhook (sent, delivered, failed, opened). We do not put the one-time code in a public link. We do not run a Meta advertising pixel on this shop.
The store system
Order and catalogue data is sent to our store operations system so staff can approve, pick, collect, or dispatch. Staff in the shop see what they need to fulfil your order. That system is ours, not a public website.
Cookies
We set portal_session (signed-in session), portal_guest_cart (an opaque guest-basket token — not the basket contents), and shop_locale (English or Kreol). These cookies are first-party, not advertising cookies. You can sign out to end the session cookie. Clearing site data removes the guest basket token on this browser.
How long we keep it
Your shop account stays while you use it. Sign-in sessions expire (hours, with a seven-day ceiling). Guest basket tokens last up to 30 days. We keep order and payment-reference records as needed to complete the sale and for store records. We do not promise to erase fiscal sale records that the store must keep.
Your rights and deletion
Under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 you may ask to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold on the shop. Message us on WhatsApp 5949 2284, ask in store in Goodlands, or use the Help page. We will delete or anonymise the shop account we control, or explain if a legal record must stay. You may also contact the Data Protection Office of Mauritius.
Children
This shop is for buying puja supplies. It is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly create accounts for children. If you believe we have, WhatsApp us and we will delete the account.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. The live URL stays https://bahadoorpoojashop.com/privacy.
